2nd Of January
The first sign of the lynx. Not so far from my camera trap I found fresh lynx tracks. The lynx was passing by the area during the night, but didn't visit my camera trap.

The day I got fooled by the lynx. It was snowing during the whole night and the landscape was covered in snow. I packed my camera bag in the morning and went into the forrest to see if I can take some nice photos of the white landscape. Not far from the cabin I found fresh lynx tracks and started to follow them. I knew they were fresh and wanted to see where the lynx went. After a while I stopped following the tracks due to steep terrain. When I got back to the cabin I discovered that the lynx hasn't been so far while I was following the tracks. The lynx walked in circles around me and passing by the cabin, while I was following the tracks. Yes, that feeling!!!

A very short visit at around 3:20 AM. My camera trap was covered with snow and didn't take any pictures. My trail cam just took one image before the lynx left.

Another short visit of approximately 3 minutes, but this time my camera trap managed to get a few images. It's the female lynx which has been visiting my camera trap several times during the last years. Unfortunately she was without her kittens, which confirms what I heard earlier this year. Two lynx kittens got killed by a car while crossing a road and I was afraid it would be the kittens from my female lynx.

The female lynx showed up again in front of my camera trap and it's her last appearance in 2020. She was just a couple of minutes in front of my camera before she again disappeared in the night. At this time I didn't now that this was most likely the last time that I will see this female lynx. During the next years the female lynx didn't showed up and I'm worried she is not among us anymore.
